Plan a Korea trip that leaves room to enjoy it

Start with your arrival, then choose one main outing for each day. These guides focus on Seoul and nearby Gyeonggi: how to reach a place, which admission or booking you actually need, and when a shorter plan makes more sense.

Before you book the first day

Save your accommodation address in Korean and check its nearest station exit. An airport transfer only solves part of the journey; luggage, transfers and the walk from the station can change the best choice. Use our Korean address and map checklist, then compare the Incheon Airport transfer options against your actual destination.

Keep the arrival evening flexible. If your landing time, immigration queue or accommodation check-in leaves little margin, move your first attraction to the following day. A prepaid evening booking should not become the deadline for every step after a long flight.

Choose the outing that fits your day

Rain in central Seoul

Seoul Museum of Craft Art gives you a focused museum plan near Anguk. Start with one exhibition and add another only if you still want more. Allow for the outdoor journey to and from the museum.

A park or an indoor garden

Seoul Botanic Park suits a choice between a free outdoor walk and a paid greenhouse visit. Decide which one is the reason for going before checking the relevant opening and ticket times.

An evening palace visit

Deoksugung after dark explains ordinary palace entry separately from the reserved Seokjojeon programme. Build the evening around the ticket you can actually obtain, with the regular visit as a different option.

One day outside Seoul

Choose Suwon for a palace-and-city walk with a clear stopping point. Compare Namhansanseong if you want a palace visit or a mountain circuit. Avoid combining both into a first day trip: each needs its own outward and return journey.

A simple check before leaving your hotel

Confirm today's opening notice and the last admission time for your main stop.
Save the Korean entrance name and the return station or bus stop.
Separate admission, transport and food in your budget. Free entry does not mean a free day out.
Pick one activity to drop if weather, queues or tiredness change the plan.
