Choose your version of the park
Seoul Botanic Park offers two different outings. Forest Field, Lake Garden and Wetland are free park areas open year-round. Admission charges apply to the greenhouse and display gardens. Inside the greenhouse, the planting introduces tropical and Mediterranean environments associated with 12 cities; the display gardens are outdoors. [1] [5]
Start with what you want from the day. Choose the free areas for an outdoor break with no garden admission charge. Choose the paid visit if the plants are the main attraction. You can make either choice the whole outing: there is no need to cover every section to justify coming.
Match the station to your chosen zone
The operator directs visitors from Magongnaru Station, served by Line 9 and AREX, through exits 3 or 4 to Forest Field. For the Botanic Garden, it lists Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station on Line 9, exit 8. Magok Station on Line 5, exit 3, is another approach to Forest Field. [3]
Compare these options from your accommodation before setting out. Save the station name as well as the park name, and use the entrance for your chosen zone as the destination. Allow for walking outside; a station connection to the park does not establish a sheltered route to the greenhouse.
The visitor center near the Forest Field entrance offers Korean and English maps. Stroller and wheelchair loans are also listed. The FAQ says an ID document is held during the loan; confirm accepted identification, availability and a suitable route before relying on this service. [7] [4]
Separate opening hours from last entry
The park's standing admission guide gives the following hours for the paid greenhouse and display gardens. The earlier cutoff is the time to plan around when deciding whether to enter. [1] [9]
There is an unresolved opening-time discrepancy: the September 2026 notice says 09:00, while the standing guide says 09:30. Plan paid entry from 09:30; confirm directly with the park if an earlier arrival matters to your schedule. [8] [1]
The paid garden normally closes on Mondays. According to the FAQ, a public-holiday Monday opens, with the substitute closure on the nearest weekday after the holiday period. Check the notice for your actual date, especially around consecutive holidays. [4]
Budget for the paid visit
These are the operator's standard individual admission prices. Tickets are valid on the day of purchase. The fee covers the greenhouse and display gardens, so decide how much of that visit you want before buying. [2] [1]
Use the standard price when setting your budget. If you expect a concession, check its eligibility and required documents rather than assuming a discount applies to every visitor.

These are suggested priorities, not measured walking routes. For an alternative day with a stronger indoor focus, compare the Seoul Museum of Craft Art plan; that visit still has outdoor approaches and crossings. Choose between the outings by weather and interests instead of assuming either is entirely sheltered.
Do not count on the greenhouse as a cool summer refuge. The operator's July 2026 notice warns that it can become hot and describes cooling units in particular locations, rather than promising a consistently cool interior. [10]
Keep meals and programs separate
The FAQ permits brought food in Forest Field and Lake Garden if you clean up afterwards. It provides no brought-food eating space in the paid garden or Botanic Center. The facilities directory lists cafes and fourth-floor eateries as alternatives. [4] [7]
Ordinary visits do not need advance reservation, according to the FAQ. Guided tours have a separate application route. Education programs use Seoul's public reservation system; check the individual listing for language, eligibility and places before building your day around a class. [4] [11]
Inside the greenhouse and display gardens, leave the tripod behind, stay out of planted areas and do not collect plants. Keep the visit focused on looking rather than rearranging anything for a photograph. [6]
